Do I qualify for a Composite Form 1099?
If you did not sell stock or did not receive at least $10 worth of dividends, you will not receive a Composite Form 1099 for a given tax year.
Where can I locate my Composite Form 1099?
The Composite Form 1099 will be available to download using your Cash App by February 15th.
Will the IRS receive a copy of my Composite Form 1099?
Yes. Cash App Investing is required by law to file a copy of the Form Composite Form 1099 to the IRS for the applicable tax year.
How do I calculate my gains or losses and cost basis?
Your gains, losses, and cost basis should automatically be calculated on a first-in-first-out basis on your 1099. If you would like to calculate them yourself you can refer to your Cash Investing account statements and your Transactions CSV. For steps on accessing your statements, read this article.
Where can I locate my Composite Form 1099?
To view your tax documents when they become available:
Tap the profile icon on your Cash App home screen
Select Documents
Select Stocks
Select Tax Documents
Select a 1099-B
To view your tax documents online:
Log into your Cash App account at cash.app/account
On the left, click Documents then Stocks
Locate the tax year in question, then click View next to “20XX Tax Year 1099-B”
Cash App Investing will provide an annual Composite Form 1099 to customers who qualify for one. The Composite Form 1099 will list any gains or losses from those shares.
