Tap to Pay on iPhone Security
Tap to Pay on iPhone uses the built-in security and privacy features of iPhone to help keep your business and your customer’s data private and secure. When a payment is processed, Apple doesn’t store card numbers or PIN information on the device or on Apple servers, so you can rest assured knowing your business stays yours.
We also recommend some additional measures to stay safe. Here are some tips:
Make sure the payment is completed before exchanging goods or services with your customer. You’ll see a spinning circle while the payment processes, and a payment confirmation screen will pop up when it’s completed.
Keep Cash App and your device’s operating system up-to-date to make sure you have access to the latest security features and bug-fixes.
Secure your account with the following security measures:
Security Lock: Enable this setting to require your PIN, Touch ID, or Face ID to authorize every Cash App payment.
Personal Identification Number (PIN): Protect it and keep it private. Do not write it on your card or store it with your card. Use a PIN that is difficult to guess. Avoid number sequences (1234), DOB, SSN, address, phone number, etc.
Push Notifications: Enable for every transaction. We strongly encourage using an alternate or secondary email for additional security.
Secure your Cash App Card: Hide your card details by opening the card tab, select Cash App Card, and toggle Show Cash App Card info.
Touch ID / Facial Recognition / Passcode: Enable enhanced login security measures on your iPhone. To learn more about security features on your iPhone, refer to the iPhone User Guide.
We recommend further securing your account by following Cash App’s Security Best Practices (https://cash.app/help/us/en-us/3127-keeping-your-cash-app-secure).
