Cash App Afterpay
What is Cash App Afterpay?
Afterpay is now available within Cash App, allowing you to pay over time on purchases using only your Cash App account. We’re calling it Cash App Afterpay, and it combines Afterpay’s flexible payments with the convenience of using your Cash App account.
How do I use Cash App Afterpay?
There are two different ways to use Cash App Afterpay - on recent Cash App Card purchases or at checkout when shopping online. Cash App Card customers can switch recent card purchases to pay over time.
Cash App Afterpay at online checkout enables Cash App customers, regardless of whether they have a Cash App Card, to check out from select brands online by choosing $Afterpay as the payment method. Please note that being eligible for one Cash App Afterpay product does not automatically make you eligible for the other.
Do I need an Afterpay account for Cash App Afterpay?
No, in fact Cash App Afterpay is done only through Cash App itself. You can make payments, update payment terms, skip a payment, file a dispute or get support for your purchase all from your Cash App account.
I already have an Afterpay account. Can I see those orders on Cash App now?
No, these will be separate. Purchases through a traditional Afterpay account will only show up in the Afterpay app for now and purchases initiated through Cash App only appear in Cash App.
Existing Afterpay customers should continue to repay, update payment terms, skip a payment, file a dispute or get support for all traditional Afterpay orders in your Afterpay account.
If I already have an Afterpay account, will this impact my existing spending limit there?
Your limits for Cash App Afterpay and Afterpay are separate, however having overdue balances on either could impact your future spending limits and/or eligibility across accounts.
What happens if I’m overdue on a payment?
We initially use your Cash App balance to cover your scheduled payments. If you don’t have enough funds in your Cash App balance to make your payment in full, we use your linked debit card or bank account to cover the amount. You may also be charged a late fee (see the Loan Agreement for details).
If you have an overdue balance on your Cash App Afterpay loan, you won’t be able to request additional loans from any other Cash App Afterpay product until your overdue balance is paid. Becoming overdue on your loans may also affect your future eligibility to use Cash App Afterpay.
