Teams

At Cash App, your team is the whole company. You work cross-functionally and across timezones, no matter your role or location. Whether you’re an intern or a lead, everyone here is an expert in something, and sharing what we know is the key to our success.

Business
The Business team is responsible for understanding how Cash App runs from a business perspective. They use insights & analytics to develop and update our commercialization strategy.
Customer Ops
The Customer Operations team works to support our customers, protect them from risk, and aid understanding of how Cash App fits into their lives. Customer Operations’ focus is to empower and enable our customers.
Counsel
The Legal team makes all of the innovation at Cash App easy by identifying legal challenges and developing creative solutions and alternatives. This team includes Product Counsel, Regulatory Counsel, Commercial Counsel, Compliance and Money Transmission Licensing Managers.
Design + Creative
The Design & Creative team works on every product screen and across every marketing channel—social, apparel, paid. They define and maintain Cash App’s visual identity and voice, then decide how it’s expressed at every touchpoint.
Engineering
The Engineering teams balance agility with performance, iterating rapidly while maintaining stability and security as Cash App grows.
Executive Ops
The Executive Operations team ensures our success isn’t hindered by disorganization. Their work ranges from logistical arrangements—ensuring Cash App’s leaders are where they need to be, when they need to be there—to team events, to operational improvements that make the work of other teams run more smoothly and efficiently.
Experience
The Experience team defines and reinforces Cash App’s work culture by developing programs and processes to foster employees’ most creative and productive selves.
Finance + Strategy
Finance & Strategy interfaces with business partners and investors, analyzes deals and decisions concerning capital allocation, striving to make the complex simple by providing timely, clear data and recommendations.
HR
The HR team is here to help all of our teams with employee relations, conflict management and coaching/development conversations, but also to answer questions even before they’re asked.
ML + Data Science
Alongside Engineering and Design, Machine Learning (ML) has become a discipline critical to how Cash App solves problems and designs its products. We’re a data driven company, so our Data Science (DS) teams are a crucial part of everything we do.
Marketing
Our Marketing team is focused on relating to our customers in new and inventive ways beyond the app itself.
Operations
The Operations team is responsible for building and scaling the financial platform infrastructure across all of Cash App, as well as managing the financial and operational performance of our many external partnerships.
Product
The Product team manages the development, launch, maintenance, and iteration of every customer-facing feature and product at Cash App.
Talent
The Talent team identifies and hires exceptional, dynamic people for all roles across the organization.

Where do you want to work?

We’ve been a distributed team since day one, and we’ve got offices and remote workers all over the globe. Our offices are great, but many of our roles can be done remotely from the countries where Cash App operates. No matter the location, we tailor our support to ensure our employees are creative, productive, and happy.

Remote
Don’t live near a Cash App office? Or you do, but have a space you like better? If your role is approved to work remotely, we’ll make sure you’ve got what you need to be productive and comfortable.
Charlotte
The Charlotte office is one of our newer locations. It’s home to our Taxes team, which is focused on building free, fast, and simple tax filing experiences for customers. The team is growing fast and will be expanding to a new office soon.
Kitchener-Waterloo
Where engineers roam free. One of the world’s foremost engineering hubs, Kitchener-Waterloo is home to our very first Engineering team. Also Skating, curling, and some notorious barbecues.
Melbourne
Coffee, cricket, and code. Melbourne’s home to our second biggest engineering team. It’s also known for killer coffee and its labyrinth of laneways, covered with street art and packed with exceptional food and drinks.
New York City
A stately structure in SoHo. HQ for many designers and engineers. Cobblestones below, roof deck on top.
Portland
Downtown Portland. Home of Cash Customer Operations. Be prepared for food trucks, snow-capped volcanoes, and tons of bridges.
St. Louis
HQ of the Customer Operations team, STL is like the Pentagon of helping people get the most out of Cash App. Beautiful atrium, soft seating, and yeah, you can see the big arch from the office.
Salt Lake City
Our SLC office is home to our Banking team. This is a perfect city for people who enjoy being close to nature and far from sea level.
San Francisco
The original Cash App office, home to more teams than any other. Right in the heart of the Mission District. Mezzanine library, floor to ceiling terrariums, and Karl the Frog.
Sydney
Our Sydney office is small and mighty. Like a habanero. Sydney is famous for its golden beaches, world-class restaurants, and Cash App engineers.
Toronto
The Big Smoke. The Six. Home of Drake. The Toronto space is a hub for Machine Learning and Engineering, a sponsor of community events, and a community of plant lovers.
