Savings with Cash App
Savings provides a separate place to store your money and save with Cash App. You can set goals and add funds to your savings balance from your Cash App balance, or from a linked payment source.
Cash App's savings balance does not have a separate account number like traditional banks. Think of your savings balance as a separate folder to store your funds.
If you have an activated Cash Card, you can also Round Up your Cash Card transactions to the nearest dollar and automatically have the funds sent to your savings balance.
Savings Goals
You can set a goal to start saving towards from the Money tab.
To do so:
Tap the Money tab on your Cash App home screen
Tap your savings balance
Select Set a goal, then continue
Enter the amount you would like to save towards
Add Funds to Savings
You can add funds to your savings balance from your Cash App balance, or from a linked payment source, such as your linked debit card, credit card, or external bank account.
To add funds to your savings balance:
Tap the Money tab on your Cash App home screen
Tap your savings balance
Select Transfer in, then choose the amount you would like to add
Change the account funds will transfer from using the grey arrow (Cash balance, external bank account, or linked debit card)
Transferring Funds out from Savings
If you need to transfer funds from your savings balance back into your main Cash balance, you can do so from the Money tab. In order to Cash Out funds to your linked debit card or bank account, you will need to transfer funds from savings into your main Cash balance first.
To transfer savings funds to your Cash balance:
Tap the Money tab on your Cash App home screen
Tap your savings balance
Select Transfer out
Select an amount then tap Move to Cash balance
Round Ups for Savings
If you have an activated Cash Card, you can round up your Cash Card transactions to the nearest dollar and send the change to your savings balance automatically.
To turn on Savings Round Ups:
Tap the Money tab on your Cash App home screen
Tap your savings balance
Select Round Ups
Tap Turn on Round Ups
If you would like to turn off Round Ups for your savings balance, you can do so by following the steps below:
Tap the Money tab on your Cash App home screen
Tap your savings balance
Select Save automatically, then tap Round Ups
Choose Turn off Round Ups
