Savings with Cash App
Cash App Savings provides a separate place to store your money and save towards your financial goals.
You can set up to five Savings goals and add money to a goal from your Cash App balance, a linked payment source, your Savings balance, or a different Savings goal.
Cash App's savings balance does not have a separate account number like traditional banks. Think of your savings balance as a separate folder to store your funds.
You can view and manage your savings balance and goals in the App or online at cash.app
Savings goals
To set your first savings goal:
1. Tap the Money tab
2. Tap Savings
3. Select Set a goal
4. Tap an emoji that fits your goal
5. Add a (optional) description for your goal
6. Enter the amount you would like to save
7. Set your goal
You can save for up to five goals at a time.
Add money to Savings
You can add money to a savings goal from your Cash balance, linked payment source, general savings balance, or a different savings goal.
To transfer money into your savings goal:
1. Tap the Money tab
2. Tap Savings
3. Tap your savings goal
4. Tap Transfer in
5. Select how much you’d like to add to your goal
6. Change where you are transferring money from by tapping the gray arrow.
Transfer money out of Savings
In order to transfer money from your Savings balance to your linked debit card or bank account, you need to transfer the money to your main Cash balance first.
To transfer money from your savings goal to your Cash balance:
Tap the Money tab
Tap Savings
Tap the savings goal you want to transfer money out of
Tap Transfer out and follow the prompts
Round Ups for Savings
If you have an activated Cash App Card, you can round up your Cash App Card transactions to the nearest dollar and send the change to your savings balance automatically.
To turn on Round Ups:
Tap the Money tab on your Cash App home screen
Tap Savings
Select Round Ups
Select Round Ups
Tap Turn on Round Ups
Paychecks for Savings
If you receive direct deposits to Cash App, you can allocate funds from your paychecks to your Savings automatically. Paychecks can be distributed to up to five goals at once.
To turn on Paychecks:
Tap the Money tab on your Cash App home screen
Tap Savings
Select Direct deposit
Choose the percentage that you want to save from each Paycheck.
Tap Confirm
Choose where you want your savings from Paychecks to go
Tap Done to confirm
