When a payment is sent to a closed bank account or a canceled debit card, several things could happen. The bank may hold on to the funds until you contact them or they may issue a check for the payment amount and send it to the address they have on file for you.
The bank may also return the funds to us. If the debit card number you used has changed but the bank account is still active, the funds will likely be routed to the correct account.
If we’re unable to make a deposit to your bank account, your money will be automatically returned to your Cash App. You can then deposit the funds by linking a new debit card or bank account.
