Schedule Automatic Stock Purchases

You can set up automatic purchases of stock (or bitcoin) to occur every day, week, or 2 weeks.

If you’re new to investing and don’t want to invest all at once, now you can invest small amounts over time. Auto Invest let’s you set it and forget it by dollar-cost averaging, which is an investing term for regularly buying small amounts over time. By spreading purchases out, you can minimize the impact of market swings.

To schedule an automatic purchase:

1. Select the stock (or bitcoin) you’d like to purchase and tap Buy
2. Select the desired frequency from the drop down menu where it says “One-Time Purchase”, then tap Done
3. Select a preset amount or tap … and enter a custom amount, then press “Next”

      Note: There is a $10 minimum for Auto Invest purchases

4. Tap Confirm to schedule your automatic purchase

While Auto Invest stock purchases can be set up at any time, the scheduled orders will be executed during market hours on days when the market is open (M–F 9:30AM–4PM EST)

The purchase times will be based on the time that you set up the purchase. If you set up the automatic stock purchase during non-market hours, the purchase will be scheduled to occur after the next market open.

To cancel an automatic purchase, you have two options:

Option 1

1. Navigate to the stock with the active Auto Invest purchase
2. Scroll down to see your active Auto Invest purchase
3. Tap on the purchase
4. Press the cancel button
5. Confirm the cancellation

Option 2

1. Navigate to the Activity tab
2. Select a receipt for the active Auto Invest purchase
3. Tap … in the upper right
4. Press the cancel button
5. Confirm the cancellation

Scheduling Buy and Sell Orders

Cash App Investing lets you place orders at any time.

However, when you schedule an order outside of market hours (M–F 9:30AM–4PM EST), your order will be placed after the next market open.

Keep in mind, stock prices may fluctuate after hours. Cash App Investing cannot guarantee that the price or amount of shares you scheduled your order at will be the same when the order executes after market open.
