Do I need a balance before I can transfer money?

No, if you don't have money in your Cash balance, money will be drawn from a linked debit card or bank account. There are a few different ways you can add money to your balance.

Link a debit card:

After you link a debit card, you can add money to your Cash balance. Adding money is quick and easy, and then you can send or spend it how you want.

Deposit paper money in stores:

You can deposit money into your Cash balance at many participating retailers around the country.

Can I send money to someone who’s not on Cash App?

You can send money to anyone using their phone number or email address.

If they're not already a Cash App customer, they’ll be asked to create an account and verify their phone number or email by entering a one-time passcode to accept the payment. If they don’t create their account and verify their phone number or email within 14 days, the payment gets returned to you. Only residents of the United States can create Cash App accounts.


How does Cash App keep my account safe?

Cash App uses encryption and fraud detection technology to help keep your data and money secure. Any information you submit is encrypted and sent to our servers securely, regardless of whether you're using a public or private Wi-Fi connection or data service.

How to send bitcoin with Cash App?

With Cash App, it is fast and easy to send bitcoin to a friend or another bitcoin wallet. First, go to the Money tab on Cash App and tap Bitcoin, then tap the arrows and select Send.

Does Cash App charge a fee to withdraw money?

If you withdraw money from Cash App to a linked account, there are no fees for standard transfers, which typically take up to 3 business days. There's a fee to withdraw money with instant transfers (0.5%-1.75%, minimum of $0.25), which are typically completed within minutes.

How do I send money on Cash App?

You can send money to friends and family for free with Cash App. Whether you're splitting the bill or chipping in for a gift, all you need is their email address, phone number, or $cashtag. Learn more about sending a payment.

Is there a fee to send money on Cash App?

It's free to receive money using your personal Cash App account. It's also free to send money from your Cash balance or your linked debit card. Cash App charges a 3% fee to send money from a linked credit card.

How much money can you send on a Cash App?

After you verify your identity, you can send up to $10,000 weekly and $20,000 on a rolling 30-day period. You can receive up to $12,500 weekly and $25,000 on a rolling 30-day period. These limits are subject to change.
