Cash App Acceptable Use Policy

By using Cash App you agree to the terms outlined in this policy. If you use Cash App on behalf of your company, your company agrees to them too.
Your use of Cash App is governed by the Cash App Terms of Service, this Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”), and any other terms, policies and guidelines applicable to the Service (as the term is defined in the Cash App Terms of Service). We may modify this Policy by posting a revised version on https://cash.app. By using the Service, you agree to the latest version of this Policy.
I. What's not allowed
To ensure that Cash App is a safe space for you and your money, we don’t allow harmful or illegal activity like fraud, bullying, and unfair business practices.
Except where prohibited by law, you may not use, facilitate use of, or allow others to use, the Services to engage in the following activities (“What’s not allowed”).
The specific types of use listed below are representative, but not exhaustive. By using the Services, you acknowledge and agree that you will not use the Services to do any of the following:
Activity involving illegal and other related substances
This includes engaging in any criminal or tortious activity, including but not limited to child pornography, trafficking in obscene material, or drug dealing. Also, you may not sell narcotics, controlled substances, substances that provide the same effect as an illegal drug (e.g., salvia, kratom), and any equipment designed for making or using drugs, such as bongs, vaporizers, and hookahs.
Allowing a minor to use Cash App
Anyone who is 13 years of age or older may use our Services with the authorization of an adult sponsor. Individuals below 13 years of age may not use our Services.
Bullying and harassment
Abusive activities or communications (oral or written) in connection with use of the Services that are explicit, abusive, or hate speech directed toward other Cash App customers or Cash App employees. This includes without limitation activities that defame, abuse, extort, harass, stalk, threaten or otherwise violate or infringe the legal rights (such as, but not limited to, rights of privacy, publicity and intellectual property) of others; interfere with another individual's or entity's access to or use of any Services, including other Cash App customers or Cash App employees.
Fraud and deceptive activity
Activity that defrauds Block, Inc., formerly known as Square, Inc., (“the Company”) Cash App customers, or any other person or entity; provides any false, inaccurate, or misleading information to Cash App or the Company.
Gambling
Risking anything of value to get something of value based on a certain outcome.
Hacking and malicious activity
Activity that imposes an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure, or detrimentally interfere with, intercept, or expropriate any system, data, or information; transmit or upload any material to the Services that contains viruses, trojan horses, worms, or any other harmful or deleterious programs; attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services, other Cash App customer accounts, computer systems or networks connected to the Services, through password mining, scraping, or any other manual or automated processes; use Cash App account information of another party to access or use the Services, except where expressly authorized by a user to access such information; or transfer your account access or rights to your account to a third party, unless by operation of law or with the express permission of the Company; harvest or otherwise collect information from the Services about others, including but not limited to personal information such as phone numbers or customers’ names, without proper consent.
Providing credit or financial services
Securities brokers; mortgage consulting or debt reduction services; credit counseling or repair; check cashing; bail bonds; collections agencies; real estate opportunities; investment schemes. This does not include the use of brokerage services provided by Cash App Investing.
Select activity with certain countries and individuals
Activity that may be in violation of regulations administered by the United States Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Asset Control (31 C.F.R. Parts 500-599). Prohibited activity includes but is not limited to the provision of Services to or for the benefit of a jurisdiction, entity, or individual blocked or prohibited by relevant sanctions authorities, including, but not limited to, activities in Iran, Cuba, North Korea, Syria, or the Crimean Region of the Ukraine. If found to be in apparent violation of these restrictions, your account could be terminated and your funds could be held for an indefinite period of time.
Select memberships and subscriptions
Any membership or subscription that lasts longer than a year and is paid for in advance. Annual, monthly, and weekly membership or subscription payments are allowed.
Selling adult content and services
Pornography and other obscene materials (including literature, imagery and other media); and sites offering any sexually-related services such as prostitution, escorts, pay-per view, adult live chat features.
Selling counterfeit or stolen stuff
Unauthorized sale or resale of brand name or designer products or services; sale of goods or services that are illegally imported or exported or which are stolen.
Selling deceptive products or services
Investment opportunities or other services that promise high rewards; Sale or resale of a service without added benefit to the buyer; resale of government offerings without authorization or added value; sites that we determine in our sole discretion to be unfair, deceptive, or predatory towards consumers.
Selling network marketing programs
Pyramid schemes, network marketing, and referral marketing programs.
Selling risky products or services
Any businesses that we believe pose elevated financial risk, legal liability, or violate card network or bank policies.
Selling tobacco, weapons, or other regulated products
Cannabis dispensaries and related businesses; sale of tobacco, e-cigarettes, and e-liquid; online prescription or pharmaceutical services; age-restricted goods or services; weapons, firearms, ammunition, and munitions; gunpowder and other explosives; fireworks and related goods; toxic, flammable, and radioactive materials; products and services with varying legal status on a state-by-state basis.
Selling unproven health products or services
Pharmaceuticals and other products that make health claims that have not been approved or verified by the applicable local and/or national regulatory body.
Using someone’s creative work without permission
Sales, distribution, or access to counterfeit music, movies, software, or other licensed materials without the appropriate authorization from the rights holder.
II. Actions we can take
We strive to make Cash App accessible to everyone. But, if you don’t follow our policy, we may close your account, block you from using the app, and share info about you and your activity with law enforcement.
We have no obligation to monitor the Services for violations of this Policy, but we have absolute discretion to take any action up to and including suspending or terminating your use of Cash App and the Services at any time without notice for any violations of this Policy that are reported to us.
We may investigate any suspected violation of this Policy, and remove or disable access to any content or resources that violates this Policy. You agree to cooperate with us to remedy any violation.
If we reasonably suspect that your account has been used for an unauthorized, illegal, or criminal purpose, you give us express authorization to share information about you, your account, and any of your transactions with law enforcement.
