Cash App Children's Privacy Notice

Effective: April 9, 2026

This Children’s Privacy Notice explains how Block, Inc. (formerly known as Square, Inc.) and our affiliates (collectively, “Cash App,” “we,” and “us”) collect, use, and disclose information relating to children under the age of 13 (“child” or “children”). We are committed to protecting your children’s privacy while providing early access to financial tools, which can help build a more financially capable generation. 

    

INFORMATION WE COLLECT ABOUT CHILDREN

Account Sign-Up

When you, a parent or guardian, create a Cash App account on behalf of your child, we collect from you your child’s name, date of birth and contact information. 

When a child uses Cash App services (“Services”) to make payments, we collect information such as: when and where the transactions occur, the names of the transacting parties, a description of the transactions, the payment amounts, and the devices (e.g., Cash App Card) used to complete the transactions.

Cash App does not enable your child to make personal information publicly available. Children under 13 do not have direct access to the Cash App application and cannot post, share, or make any personal information publicly visible through our Services.

  

HOW WE USE CHILDREN'S INFORMATION

We may use your child’s personal information for the following purposes: 

Providing, Improving, and Developing our Services

  • Processing or recording payment transactions or money transfers;

  • Displaying historical transaction information;

  • Providing, maintaining and improving our Services;

  • Developing new products and Services;

  • Delivering the information and support requested through the use of our Services;

  • Measuring, tracking and analyzing trends and usage in connection with use or the performance of our Services; and

  • Otherwise providing the products and features you or your child choose to use for your child’s account.

Communicating about our Services

  • Sending you surveys and getting your feedback about our Services; and

  • Sending you information about our Services or that you have requested from us

​​Protecting our services and maintaining a trusted environment

  • Conducting investigations, complying with and enforcing any applicable laws, regulations, legal requirements, and industry standards, and responding to lawful requests for information from the government or to valid legal process;

  • Contacting you to resolve disputes, collect fees and help with using our services;

  • Debugging to identify and fix errors that impair how our Services function;

  • Making sure you and your child follow our Terms of Service or other applicable agreements or policies;

  • Investigating, detecting, preventing, recovering from, or reporting fraud, misrepresentations, security breaches or incidents, other potentially prohibited, malicious, or illegal activities, or to otherwise help protect the account, including to dispute chargebacks on your behalf;

  • Protecting your, our, or our other customers’ rights or property, or the security or integrity of our Services;

  • Verifying or maintaining the quality and safety of our Services; and

  • Verifying your or your child’s identity.

Other Uses

  • We will notify you and obtain your consent before we use your child’s personal information for any other reason.

  
WHEN AND WITH WHOM WE SHARE CHILDREN'S INFORMATION

We disclose children’s personal information to other parties where integral to our Services or to support our internal operations as described in How we use children’s information, including sharing with:

  • Other users of our Services or merchants when you or your child make payments or money transfers using our Services.

  • Service providers who help us provide, maintain, and improve our Services.

  • Other parties as part of a business transfer or corporate change, such as a subsequent owner, co-owner, or operator of one or more of the Services.

  • Other parties for legal compliance or safety purposes, including (i) to comply with laws, legal process or governmental request; (ii) to enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements; (iii) for the security and integrity of our Services, or to protect us, our customers, or the public from harm, fraud, or prohibited or illegal activities.  

We will notify you and obtain your consent before we disclose your child’s personal information for any other reason. 

We also may share (within our group of companies or affiliates, or with service providers or other third parties) aggregated and/or anonymized information that does not specifically identify any individual user of our Services.

  

HOW LONG WE KEEP CHILDREN'S INFORMATION

We keep your child’s information as long as is necessary for the purposes identified in this Privacy Notice, including to provide the Services, to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests, to detect or prevent fraud, to collect fees owed, to resolve disputes, to address problems with our Services, to assist with investigations, to enforce our Terms of Service or other applicable agreements or policies, or to take any other actions consistent with applicable law. Even after you close the account, we may retain the child’s information to the extent necessary for the above purposes. 

  

PARENTAL CHOICES AND CONTROLS

As a parent, you have the following rights:

  • You can refuse to permit us to collect further personal information of your child by closing the account; 

  • You can request us to delete your child’s personal information; and

  • You can request access to your child’s personal information that we have collected.

Please note that your child may no longer be able to use our Services if you close the account or delete your child’s personal information.
